I' won't get all beer nerd on you lot I promise!!

But there are two slightly different Pilsner styles, German and Czech. The Sam Adams is of the German type, I have to agree with Wolter and BostonBeaneater in that I am a more interested in the Czech style and can think of a number of American versions of Czech Pilsner's that blow away Sam Adams - Serra Nevada Summertime, Mama's Little Yella Pils, even Lagunita's Czech Pils. But In that regard Budweiser is the stand out in my opinion of the imports - and I of course mean the real Budweiser..

Mama's Little Yella Pils is a constant in my fridge over the summer. Fucking love it.
The leads are fucking weak? You're weak.

I've never had the real Budweiser, but I've always been curious.

I have in the past steered away a little from over the top hoppy beers, but I guess my tastes are changing rapidly - I am determined to try and get some of the Piny The younger if I can.

This weekend I went a little hoptastic and enjoyed amongst other things

hence my desire to get the already sold out at the brewery offering, Pilny The Younger

Also on the list this weekend

Matedog you ever been over to The Trappist in Oakland? A fine bar and a great place to enjoy some nice Belgian ale?

I haven't jumped on the California hopped out IPA bandwagon yet although I usually will grab a Big Daddy or Lagunitas if the only other options are Stella and Hennekin.

Never been to Traippist but I'm obviously intrigued. Here is where I was on Friday: http://www.yelp.com/biz/la-trappe-san-francisco-2

As for the Super Bowl, I drank some Karl Strauss and a bunch of this:

Lastly, CA>CO beers. I thought that was common knowledge.

A Wholefoods just opened near me and they have a great beer section. I feel like a pinko shopping there but goddam do they have some nice stuff. I get the gourmet salami and beer there at least a few times a week.

My eyes are always first drawn to the English beers - The Coniston Bluebird should be on your list next time you shop - a great British beer if ever there was.

8. Burnham Road smoked http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/4/49691

Either tried tasters or sipped on friends for all except the Trippel, the black, and the Musette which I had glasses of. It was all delicious.

If you see a bottle of this I say you ought to buy it:

I think it might be rare and local. The where to get it list on the website includes only Boston, NYC, and Philly. Great stuff though, full of flavor.

I am definitely a fan of a number of the Allagash beer’s so I am a little jealous of a couple of those you enjoyed. Seems like they pulled out a few rare bottles for the night, good times.

I aint going to make it into the City tonight however hard I try and seeing as the Younger sold out at the Brew pub in Santa Rosa on the first day I doubt it will last long. I have three places closer that all have it at some point this weekand I am trying to work the schedule to get down to one of them before the barrel runs dry.

Trying to get to a Linden street Brewery event tomorrow night – if you ever get the chance to try the Common Lager it knocks the spots of Anchor Steam in a big way and I say that as a big fan of Anchor.

Looks like Pretty things Beer is not getting out this far, but tips are good and I have sources who can look out for recommendations like this one.

Nah, all on tap.

Don't know if I'm going to try to fight the crowd for a Younger. Next night for sure is meet the brewer night for The Bruery on friday.

I think Younger is going to pass me by this year as well. Maybe next year if they up the production a little, seems the hype is simply sending the demand through the roof and they have no real plan to up production anytime.

I skipped out last night to go for a run before getting some Little Star (the Zachary's of SF) and got a Boont eventhough the Blue Star Wheat is quite scrumptious.
