I imagine it takes that person a good hour to load his or her AOL account.

I'm a snobby Mac user (redundant?), so no. Just something I found while looking for toolbar porn. :shifty:

Hey Flex, what is that spyware checking software that was free that was good? I had it on my old computer and now my work computer is buggy and AVG and S&D are coming up empty.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Ad-Aware and Spybot are both good. SpywareBlaster is good for prevention, but doesn't do scans.

I've just had a resident shield alert on my AVG anti virus, something called VBS/Generic is invading my laptop. I'm moving them to the virus vault, but is there any other precautions I should take? Never had this shit before.

Yeah, if you move to the vault or delete the file, it should be fine. You might just want to run a full scan manually sometime and see if it catches anything.

Should I worry about the word "infected?"

You didn't seem worried about that Scandinavian couple who were almost certainly "infected."
