Chris had some great stories and a wealth of knowledge on the Clash. His pre IMCT website was great as is his book that was based on the site.
I don't know what he was on before he left here but you couldn't converse with him anymore he kind of lost the plot?

I only ever access this site these days in the vain hope that one day CK and Salisburysteak will both have returned to lock horns.
Those rows they had were stupendous.

Board historians (aka long timers with better memories than me), wasn't CK related to MeatKid? Like second cousins or something? I have a memory that there was something personal between them that was also familial.

Doesn't ring any bells with me.

Okay, confirmation one way or the other. Another case of aliens implanting false memories in me after stealing hemoglobin while I sleep.

Wasn't it a Bob Dylan thing? Meat Boy was obsessed by Dylan.

That was why much of the community came to dislike him. Or at least his smug assertions about Dylan (and music and film generally).

The word I remember you using, and it was accurate, was "callow."

Ha, right. And it's a description I don't apply that often, either.

there was only room for one annoying kid on this board and meatkid couldn't cut it.

I get misty eyed thinking about watching you grow up to became an annoying young man then finally a full-on annoying adult. Sunrise, sunset …

Ha! I'm not totally crazy, I'm not totally crazy, I'm not totally crazy! I did a quick google to see whether Meat Kid is still out there using that username, and this was one of the top hits: http://salsburysteakjr.livejournal.com/

Maybe not a relation, but a shared name.

Taking delight in browbeating teenagers off a messageboard is a bit unseemly.

I've long since fallen out of touch with him, but Sals was pretty affected by his treatment here.
