Thanks again for the good wishes, I love you all, even Wolter.
Drunk again?
No, I haven't had any alcohol since the concussion.

But it's actually true!
What you were concussed?

Yep. Slipped on an exercise ball and smashed the back of my head.

No lasting damage I hope, sounds nasty.
I just polished off some Low Country shrimp & grits and a mess of collards. That's a hell of a strain on the arm.

Shit, dude. Thought you were joking. I've had two known concussions from work, both times didn't know enough to not go to sleep right afterwards, lucky to be alive I suppose. Never had health care or the like, so the first thing I've always wanted to do after was have a drink. (not trying to be funny;hope you're OK man).

Thanks for the concern. Don't worry, I'm fine. Had a raucous headache and was a little disoriented for a while. The weirdest part was the way my mouth instantaneously tasted metallic and stayed that way until the next day. But Ali made me go to the ER to check myself. No lasting damage. So far.

Never had concussion but I know what you mean about the metallic taste. I have had that before after a bang on the head especially on the nose just before it bleeds.

What's weirder is there wasn't any blood. And it wasn't exactly coppery, like blood. My cursory internet search at the time suggested it might have been an adrenaline surge to keep me from passing out.

I was knocked out as a ten year old after falling from a swing. Was out for quite a while, woke up in hospital.

When I came round I asked my Dad if I'd still be able to play football. "You couldn't bloody play to start with" was his succinct answer.
I just polished off some Low Country shrimp & grits and a mess of collards. That's a hell of a strain on the arm.

Actually, thinking back to the date (July 79), it was about a month after this I got into Kiss.

You woke up and The Boomtown Rats were No. 1 with "I Don't Like Mondays". Thatcher was in power and Sunderland FC celebrated its 100-year centenary.

...Oh and KISS were on The Dynasty Tour, also known as "The Return of Kiss" The tour saw a decline in audience. Additional dates at Madison Square Garden and the Pontiac Silverdome were cancelled, while an additional night at the Los Angeles Forum was moved to the 10,000-capacity Anaheim Convention Center.

Frehley stated in various interviews that Kiss was becoming a youth-oriented band with Geordie kids attending their concerts with parents in tow.
