Have you tried looking in the Last Gang subforum? If you're just seeing happy birthdays you might be in the Right Profile subforum which is for techy issues and birthday announcements.

You should definitely feel free to start some interesting conversations about The Clash.

I actually think this place does okay considering the Clash have been finished for years, and we have the competition of Facebook groups etc. And if there is any big news in Clashworld it usually breaks here first. Still my favourite forum anyway.
