Yeah, agreed. Whatever the family wishes.

I have the same sentiment as everyone else.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I much prefer the hospice donation to flowers. Thanks for taking care of all of this, James. You are a good egg.

About £175, and I've had a few PMs of people just catching up who intend to put some more in.

Okay, everybody. Going to make the 2nd the last day to get any donations in and the deadline to let me know if you're unhappy with the change of destination. I want to thank everybody for their kind generosity and express my pride in having been able to facilitate towards such a worthy cause. Thanks to Neil for coming up with the original idea.

This morning I sent over your kind donations to the Michael Sobell House. £201.92. I wrote on the form,
For Robert McDonald. Midnight to six man.

Here's the paypal receipts. A non-redacted version, with the donors' anonymity removed, is available on request to all who contributed. Not shown here is Heston's, who went above and beyond the call of duty, and went to the trouble to send me his via post. I'll be sending that in seperately so as to protect his donation and then send that receipt his way alone.

I apologise if anyone thinks I've been at all pedantic or a pain in the arse in the handling of this. That's the opposite of my style, but I was desperate to do this properly.

I thank you all again for letting me be a part of honouring the memory of somebody I have a great affection and respect for. And thanks for the noble trust you placed in me.

As far as I was concerned there was absolutely no need for you to provide these details for us. The fact that you did is a wonderful reflection on you but also this site as a whole, and I think adds to the tribute to Rob. Thanks again for sorting this out.
