Hi all,

I registered a while back to keep tabs on my old man (Purple Hayes) as him logging in here made me know he was doing fine and I didn't have to call him every day (he hated being checked on or fussed over - which some of you may have known about if you'd ever met him - very much his own man!)

Just to keep the board updated, he's struggling but clinging on in a hospice where he's been for the last few months. He hasn't been able to talk recently but he did hear these messages and was grateful for them when I told him this thread existed a few weeks back.

Keep him in your thoughts!

Thanks for the update. I hadn't seen him on here and knew it wasn't likely going well. He is missed here.

Rob's a top bloke and we all miss him, and we wish him the best.

Yep definitely repeat what others have said here. Rob's a top geezer and one of the soundest I've ever met.

Hayes is one of the sharpest and most witty people on this board of generally sharp and witty people. We've missed him a lot. We wish him and the family all the best.

I can't add anything to what has already been said apart from my best wishes.
