I can understand that totally. For me though it was those vocals that gave the Spex their uniqueness. Just like the Pistols with Rotten. In the 70s this was a huge victory over all the Bonnie Tyler types of female singers.

Yeah I know we're a disco board and all but part of the appeal of punk was that it was open to anyone. You didn't have to be a virtuoso musician etc, nor what had previously been recognized as a good rock singer.
