I remember the time Hoy told us the greatest story about meeting the singer from REO Speedwagon: http://clashcity.com/boards/viewtopic.p ... 804#p19797

I once explained how to find the pool to Jerry Dammers in the changing rooms at my local swimming baths.

Other than that, I had a piss next to "Doctor" from Doctor and the Medics, we talked about Sandinista for a while. Also had a fight with the lead singer from Eddie and the Hot Rods in 1999.
Good job it was '99 and not '79 Barrie Masters was a hard bastard back in the day.

I regularly had a piss next to Martin Fry as he used to frequent my local in Westbourne Grove as did Motörhead and Ms James etc..from Transvision Vamp.
Did he give you the look of love?

I've met Capt. Sensible a couple of times.
I've met Joe Strummer and chatted for about 10 - 15 mins with him.
I've met Mick Jones a couple of times. The last time was with Silent Majority.
I shared a pint with Rat Scabies, Dave Vanian and Roman Jugg.
I've met Ray Davies who is my hero.
I've met Steve Diggle and Pete Shelley.
I've met John Lydon.
I've met The Godfathers.
I've had a cup of tea with Stuart Adamsom in the Trocadero, London.
I've met Paul Weller at a record fair in Victoria, London.
Had a chat with Steve Mack from That Petrol Emotion in the U.L.U
I've met Wiz from Mega City Four (RIP)
I've met Mark Keds of the Senseless Things
Sang on stage with Teenage Fanclub.
Met Vivienne and Malcolm in World's End (SEX) in 1980. Vivienne was a sweatheart and Malcolm was aloof. The Swindle movie had just been released.
There's a rehearsal room about 250 yards from the rear of my house and the UK Subs were rehearsing. Charlie Harper is a real nice guy.

I once spent a long flight (in coach) from SanJuan PR to Baltimore seated between the lead singer (Donnie Van Zant) and the bassist from .38 Special. After talking briefly about the questionable makeup of Puerto Rican cheeseburgers I spent the rest of the flight listening to Husker Du on my Walkman.

Was he holding on (loosely) to the armrest?

Given his family history I was surprised he was even on the plane.

OK this thread's shaping up nicely. I'm getting read to post some bullshit but I need more time to think up some more lies. But here's the deal: peeps should be ready, upon request, to expand on, embellish, or otherwise fabricte their stories  . Marky you got so many, but for now just a comment about Ray Davies. Did you know that he was in or living in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina hit, and was mugged by some ne'er do wells with a gun. I guess Ray fought back and was shot twice, and he still chased them down and kept fighting. Don't what happened then or if the cops got the guys or what, but I never would have guessed Ray being such a tough fooker.

Yeah Ray was shot in the leg after some sad sack threatened his girlfriend. Ray handed over money then gave chase. He wrote a song about the incident called Dead Leg Street or something. :shifty:
