It was the best. Nothing would beat driving it into Manhattan to pick up ink and supplies.. It would bum out EVERYONE on the sidewalk.Still216 wrote:You had me at "bungee cord".modskin wrote:

I genuinely can't express how insanely jealous I am of your experience of parking the guy from the State's custom-painted van with a door held together with a bungee cord. That is unreal.

No. You may have the beating, or not the beating. I will go with Van Morrison but only for his work with "Them".
Gloria
Here Come's The Night
Baby Please Don't Go
All classic.
Astral Weeks may just be the most overated album of all time, I own it and like it but it's simply not the classic it's made out to be.

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I remember it well. Shame the Twang's studio version has been removed from YouTube, it knocks the original into a cocked hat.matedog wrote:Yeesh, I thought me n Flex were the only ones that remembered that lost 90's gem. Maybe the Maj-matedog trade would suit me well. I don't know if I believe you about whatever that Twang thing is. Time to search Spotify.Heston wrote:I remember it well. Re: Van poll
Just gave it a listen. It's a good cover, but definitely inferior to the original in my book. I dig the quirks of the original - the radio banter in the intro, the two distinct vocalists, the Snoop Dogg shout out. The vocalist on this version tries a bit too hard when the original vocalists were a lot more effortless. The harmony on the "we've got conclusion" part sounds terrible and the "LA-hell A" is replaced with "aw-yeah" which is not an improvement. Nice guitar work at the end though.Heston wrote:I remember it well.
