Another "blind spot" band for me. Only ever listened to the one with the crazy between song bits, which I quite liked. Also, I played "Where Is My Mind" in a band for a couple years before I learned who's song it was. Guess I was too busy with the Replacements in the '80s to notice (and how'd they get to be rivals of the Pixies? The two are nothing alike).

And speaking of the 'Mats - how about a Westerberg/Grandpaboy solo top 5?

OK, will do. Shoot me a reminder PM if you think of it, Marky. You know how forgetful I can be. :disshame:

Most impressive 5-album run of any band I can think of, IMO.

You're only giving us six albums to choose from, man (seven if you don't count Indie Cindy as a compilation). :naughty:

1. Doolittle
2. Trompe le Monde
3. Come On Pilgrim
4. Surfer Rosa
5. Bossanova
This is mine too.

As an aside, I heard a little voice from downstairs call up to me "mommy, this commercial has the Pixies on it." (HCYM is in some commercial). I have brainwashed him well.
Got a Rake? Sure!

Yes, that's it! Don't worry - I'm sure he'll start liking dubstep or whatever it is teens will be into in a few years. But right now his favorite band is the Femmes and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it stays this way.

I've had very little contact with this band other than the tribute night I'm playing tomorrow night, so the only songs I really know at all are the ones we're playing:

Bone Machine
Bang On (Breeders)
U-Mass
"Suck our Earth dick, Martians!" —Doc

No, I just don't like them very much.
