All the ones I know were listed already except:

Europe Looked Ugly - Boomtown Rats
and you could have had Banana Republic - Boomtown Rats
Umm good song but no. This top 5 has to have the word "Europe" in the title.
Europe = Banana Republic

Banana republic was definitely ireland. Know that for a fact because i lived there at the time of the song and the whole country was gorging itself silly on bananas.

Indeed the song was written about Ireland. A "Banana Republic" could and has applied to many places in the world.

Yes thats true. Geldof said he wrote BR in response to the Rats being banned from playing in ireland. I remember a story about the uproar caused when it was revealed that the marquis the band were going to use for their homecoming gig in dublin had been used by the pope during his visit to ireland a year earlier. "The purple and the pinstripe/mutely shake their heads" is i think a likely reference to that predictable outrage.

Hey clearly you didn't read the mandate. There are only around 15 decent songs about Europe. ;)

I had no idea what the song was about I just thought it apt, Europe being an unstable nation reliant on one export - Britain 😊
