I've been too absent for too long from the Top 5. And dang, I snooze I lose. Lot's of good 'uns already taken, but I'll try not to repeat anything:

Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down - Johnny Cash/Kris Kristofferson
Monday Will Never Be The Same - Hüsker Dü
Tuesday Heartbreak - Stevie Wonder
Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting - Charles Mingus
(Thursday) Here's Why I Did Not Go to Work Today - Harry Nilsson
Friday - Ice Cube
Another Saturday Night - Sam Cooke

I take it back. Some good 'uns still left on the board for folks to take if they think if 'em.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Confession time: I think Chicago's Saturdays in the Park is a pretty good song. Not Top 5 good, but I usually put it in my 4th of July mixes.

I was going to do this until my list was too many Cure and Bowie songs, and now I see how it should have been done.

I don't know how Blue Monday and FN/SM didn't get into my head. We did have the same Sunday though.

So 101 I left "Saturday's Kids" for you. Go on put on your V neck jumper and your baggy trousers. See Weller beat Madness by a year with that lyric.

Tuesday's Gone by Skynryd is as good as any song there's ever been.

There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Hello,

Forget the baggy trousers. Get your tartan on:

Sorry, I usually keep all your music posts on "ignore."

How about:

Like A Summer Thursday – Townes Van Zandt
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
