Yeah that's a beast, rocks as hard as the Ramones. Don't think ol' Cole Porter envisioned it that way!

Yeah I watched a couple of days back when forming my list. Nice touch with respects to your friend.muppet hi fi wrote: ↑16 Feb 2018, 1:49pmYep. And the rockers too (to the point where many of his throwaways could be classics for other bands).Marky Dread wrote: ↑16 Feb 2018, 1:38pmYeah he does those so effortly. I could easily pick 5 great songs for each day of the week. So many good songs.muppet hi fi wrote: ↑16 Feb 2018, 12:38pmNiiiiiiiice. I see you went for all rockers; I had to throw in a couple weepers cuz he writes heartbreakers just plain better than fucking anybody.Marky Dread wrote: ↑16 Feb 2018, 1:34am1. Everything Goes Wrong
2. Gun Shy (Folker)
3. High Time (Grandpa Boy - Mono)
4. Whole Lotta Nothing (The I Don't Cares - Wild Stab)
5. Waiting for Somebody/Dyslexic heart (Singles soundtrack)
God bless Paul Harold Westerberg.
Marky, have you seen this yet? It's very entertaining and very moving in it's way (it's the official source for one of your picks, "Everything Goes Wrong"). There's a scene where he pays tribute to and wrote a song for my late friend Katie. Always hard for me to watch/listen.

It's OK, nothing very revealing. And the singer sounds EXACTLY like a young singer I played with in the mid '90s, but that kid was of Finnish descent from the Upper Peninsula, Michigan. They're a terrible band with no ideas or emotional range.

Re: Heston and Marky's Friday Top 5
So two days ago I wake up with a dark shadow covering the bottom half of my left eye. I call the doc (not that one) and I'm told to go straight to hospital (Royal Berks, Reading). After an eye scan I'm told my retina has become detached and I need emergency surgery. So I'm sent to Moorfields Eye Hospial, London. I spent all day there yesterday to have the operation of which there is an 85% chance my eyesight will return if not completely, so fingers crossed. The doctors and nurses were all fantastic so many thanks to them.
Top 5 songs about Doctors, Nurses, Hospitals etc.
1. I Wanna Be Sedated -The Ramones
2. I Wanna Be Well - The Ramones
3. Pills - Bo Diddley/New York Dolls
4. Eyesight to the Blind - Mose Alison/The Who
5. Dr. Robert - The Beatles

Best wishes, Marky! For what it's worth, I had eye surgery 4 years ago (cataract removed in my right eye) and it was a great success. My cataract was removed and they did the lasik thing - no more contacts. I went for a check up the next week and the nurse asks "How's the other eye?". I reply "Fine". She asks "Doesn't it get cloudy and glare at night bothers you?" "No". Again, she asks "Are you sure it doesn't get cloudy and glare bothers you at night?" I caught on and said "Yeah, sure, it gets cloudy". Cut to the chase, I got lasik surgery on the other eye under insurance - cheap! Good luck!

Christ, Marky. I've heard of detached retina's happening to boxers, but holy hell - what do you think happened? You get in a doonybrook with someone over who was better, Chuck Berry or Bo Diddley? . Here's to your (improved) sight, and of course your invaluable in-sight!
(top 5 coming. good topic).
