Eat to the Beat is #1 for me. In fact my 1-2-3 fave Blondie songs are 1-2-3 on side one.

Eh, ya know - first five albums, any old order, though I do love 'The Hunter' as well, especially "Danceaway".

I just think Parallel Lines is so iconic it has to be top of the list even if you can make a good argument that others are as good.

I'd say 'Eat to the Beat' is just as iconic and just as strong, song for song. And has that great live mix going for it, so that's some strong competition.101Walterton wrote: ↑20 Sep 2018, 7:14pmI just think Parallel Lines is so iconic it has to be top of the list even if you can make a good argument that others are as good.

It may be just as strong musically however I would argue it is not as iconic as Parallel Lines.muppet hi fi wrote: ↑20 Sep 2018, 7:54pmI'd say 'Eat to the Beat' is just as iconic and just as strong, song for song. Well yeah, 'Parallel Lines' is sorta Blondie's "London Calling' or whatever in that respect - it's just another great album by a then shit-hot group that happened to luck out (with a ton of touring) with both the critics and public, and now it's in the realm of t-shirt fodder for suburban mall kids who don't know, care, etc.101Walterton wrote: ↑20 Sep 2018, 8:06pmIt may be just as strong musically however I would argue it is not as iconic as Parallel Lines.muppet hi fi wrote: ↑20 Sep 2018, 7:54pmI'd say 'Eat to the Beat' is just as iconic and just as strong, song for song. Back in the day it was compulsory to have a copy. You could not go to a party where it wasn’t played and every record shop had the cover poster on the wall as did most teen bedrooms. Not mine I had the one if Debbie in the white dressmuppet hi fi wrote: ↑20 Sep 2018, 8:49pmWell yeah, 'Parallel Lines' is sorta Blondie's "London Calling' or whatever in that respect - it's just another great album by a then shit-hot group that happened to luck out (with a ton of touring) with both the critics and public, and now it's in the realm of t-shirt fodder for suburban mall kids who don't know, care, etc.101Walterton wrote: ↑20 Sep 2018, 8:06pmIt may be just as strong musically however I would argue it is not as iconic as Parallel Lines.muppet hi fi wrote: ↑20 Sep 2018, 7:54pmI'd say 'Eat to the Beat' is just as iconic and just as strong, song for song.
