I love this video, it's good to see it in higher quality.

Re: Dead Kennedys studio footage
Hey, does anyone have a copy of the Dead Kennedys '78 demos (ideally in lossless)? I just realized I've never heard them, and I'd like my first experience to ideally not just be a low bittrate youtube rip or w/e.

Awesome, thanks Doc! I was reading folks speaking really highly of these demos, what's your take?Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑03 Jul 2018, 6:04amNot FLAC, but 200-ish mp3: http://www69.zippyshare.com/v/FFihZ6CU/file.html
(If anyone still has this lossless, I'll still be looking, but this definitely quench my DK thirst )

Just refreshing my memory right now by playing them. I don't think they're any great revelation. A bit slower and deliberate and Biafra hasn't quite found his voice yet. If they'd never released a proper record these would be a great "what if?" document, but instead they're more curiosity.

Crazy to come across this thread. Just saw something on the Hoffman board regarding these demos. Came up in a discussion about the remastering done to the catalog and the original engineer chimed in with some insight into the band's original recording process (really an interesting read) and then someone asked him if he had a good copy of the '78 demos, but he said he didn't start working with them until 1979.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑03 Jul 2018, 1:56pmJust refreshing my memory right now by playing them.
