Just read in the latest Uncut that Roy Carr has died.

Oh man, that's a bummer. The Beatles: An Illustrated Record is still my favourite music book — I read it so often that all the pages fell out!

Just discovered this band, Dustdevils, an old noise rock group from the 80s and 90s. Nothing to change anyone's world or anything like that, but they make a fine racket.

Arcade Fire, Neon Bible. Was going to listen to a Canadian band, but then I thought of Hoy and instead picked AF.

Wonderfully creepy, retro electronic, like being trapped in a 1970s BBC sci-fi series.

Two disc set of Raw Power/Kill City demos etc. Real nice to have all this material in one place instead of spread over a million dubious compilations. Best sounding versions I've heard also.
