I don't think it's all covers. I imagine B.L.M. stands for "Black Lives Matter". The CD is a two disc affair with a best of live disc.101Walterton wrote: ↑27 Oct 2018, 2:41amTrack listing for new album are they all covers?

The Life and Times (Of a Man Called Depression) I presume is a Terry song.Marky Dread wrote: ↑27 Oct 2018, 3:23amI don't think it's all covers. I imagine B.L.M. stands for "Black Lives Matter". One of my favourite Equals songs, I hope they do it justice.
I can't really think of this as the Specials.

I really don't think that is important anymore mate. If you want a nostalgia trip then there's always the albums. I think it's great they actually doing something as opposed to (Do Nothing). Some feel there hasn't been a Specials since Terry/Neville/Lynval left but I still consider the "In the Studio" "The Specials" and I see the band as a revolving door. There is so much crap music these days so at least we have bands like The Specials and I'll add The Panic Report playing something decent from the heart.

I think of s/t and MS as one band and ITS as another. I don’t count anything after In The Studio. I guess this will be the third.

Well I really like the "Guilty 'til Proven Innocent" album and has just as many original members on it as ITS and the new to be released album. People often just think of the original band but you have to include Rico and Dick as they are/were an integral part of that sound.101Walterton wrote: ↑27 Oct 2018, 4:49pmAgreed.Marky Dread wrote: ↑27 Oct 2018, 1:34pmI really don't think that is important anymore mate. I like the fact they are doing "The Lunatics" which is a very underrated song in my opinion. If you listen to "Maggie's Farm" you can already hear the beginnings of The Fun Boy 3.

Re: What Are you Listening to Right Now?
Never thought of it before but agreed re Maggie’s Farm. I always thought it different but thought that was because it was a Dylan song (even though sounds nothing like the original Dylan version).Marky Dread wrote: ↑27 Oct 2018, 5:06pmWell I really like the "Guilty 'til Proven Innocent" album and has just as many original members on it as ITS and the new to be released album. The Kinks, 50th anniversary of Village Green, I couldn't help myself just had to buy it. I have more copies of VG than I do of London Calling! I couldn't afford the superdeluxe edition where all the good stuff is but the 2 cd set is pretty good. I was hoping for a full blown remix a la Sgt. Pepper but alas no, which is a shame. There isn't much difference from this to the 2004 3 cd release. Not really recommended unless you are going for the full package

Re: What Are you Listening to Right Now?
So much better sounding than Entertainment!. Dave Allen actually sounds like he's playing a bass guitar. And I beyond love the opening of "Tourist." Gill sounds like someone who just walked into a guitar shop and is trying to play for the first time, while Allen and Burnham do a holding pattern until he figures it out. Just beautiful cacophony.

A wasted opportunity. They should have gave everything the treatment they gave Johnny Thunder on disc 3 of the 2004 reissue.coffeepotman wrote: ↑28 Oct 2018, 9:17amThe Kinks, 50th anniversary of Village Green, I couldn't help myself just had to buy it.
