Still upset about the Manitoba news, but the slot goes to Lenny Kaye!
Don't forget to tune in for Lenny Kaye’s first show on The Underground Garage next Monday, February 19th at 8pm ET only on SiriusXM Radio! In the meantime, tell us your favorite song on Nuggets in the comments below! #LSUG

Bummed Manitoba turned out to be such a piece of shit, but getting Kaye seems like a pretty inspired choice. Looking forward to his first show.tepista wrote: ↑13 Feb 2018, 3:30pmStill upset about the Manitoba news, but the slot goes to Lenny Kaye!

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

His work with Patti Smith is fantastic. Straight down the line no-frills playing with passion. My favourite kind of guitatist. You can hear the influence on Mick Jones.

Momus, Pubic Intellectual. eumaas' recent post about listening to Momus got me to revisit the pervert's work, and this three-disc summary does a pretty decent job of covering the variety. I definitely favour the older stuff—when he still had two working eyes—but there's an amusing, playful artistry to what he's done throughout his career.

My niece Maria is friends with Manitoba (as well as Lenny Kaye) and is a Facebook hound and has said zilch about Manitoba (she's always promoting her bar in the East Village, used to mention Manitoba's bar a bunch too).Flex wrote: ↑13 Feb 2018, 3:34pmBummed Manitoba turned out to be such a piece of shit, but getting Kaye seems like a pretty inspired choice. I bought the first two Dictators albums when they came out, didn't like them at all, thought "the hell? this sounds like the FM hard rock I'm trying to get away from". And I knew Manitoba was a coward when he was giving Jayne (then Wayne) County shit at CBGB's - calling her a fag and such - and Jayne beat the shit outta him right there. His tough guy thing wasn't funny then, and now we get some insight. Fuck him.

Re: What Are you Listening to Right Now?
A little playful Valentine's ditty from Momus:
I was created in the fleshpots of Araby
My mother was the Emperor's secretary
My father, a notorious libertine
Escaped from Sodom and Gomorrah, the cities of the plain
You can read my family's rise and fall in Gibbon
I was born to be adored by women
Well Seth begat Clem and then Clem begat Ruth
And then Ruth begat me and all hell broke loose
The tribes all began to multiply and boom
And, looking at their kids, no-one knew from whom
The beautiful things kept springing
I was born to be adored by women
My hair is long, distinguished, prematurely grey
I've got a mouth like Ernest Hemingway's ashtray
I've fathered 103 illegitimate kids
I've never met a mother I couldn't bed
I love children, spiders, snakes, and anything living
I was born to be adored by women
Some guys can erect garden furniture
That must be what God invented husbands for
But if you need a milk chocolate in the shape of a man
If you need a chunk of marzipan the size of Taiwan
Look up the chimney, see what Santa's bringing
I was born to be adored by women
Well I know I'm always late since my watch got sold
But I'm worth the wait, the weight in gold
After God made me, they broke the mold
And I've broken all the records with that old song
Bold girls are so fond of singing
I was born to be adored by women
Well my favourite bird is the cuckoo, punk
My favourite beast the funky skunk
My favourite colour is the emerald green
Chuck the football king goes when his beauty queen
Comes to me when she's chucked him in
I was born to be adored by women
What I don't know about love technique
You could scribble in biro on the balls of your feet
I never wear underwear, I drive a dead beat Landrover
In my bare feet stark naked, there's always one more river to go swim in
I was born to be adored by women

Kim's been getting into Momus since I introduced her to his stuff the other day.
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .
