Oh dear. I bought that on release and thought it was awful.
The single was tepid, but the compilation was worthwhile.
Had never heard the song until now. Man, it's not good.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Also is that Ray Jordan in the video at like 27 seconds?

Yeah, I was referring to the single.

Radio edits are most welcome where BAD are concerned. They should have slid that fader down a lot quicker at the end of many of their songs.

I would listen to BAD a thousand times more often if the songs were 2:59 more often than 5:59.

I do like some of the versions of Looking for a Song, particularly the one with the Carry On samples. I have played those CDs plus a promo CD of Free from the Flashback movie, plus the On The Road 92 CD plus some of the Planet BAD greatest hits (Harrow Road ska mix ). Have all sounded good to me!

I had some BAD on loud for the first time in a while the other day. Megatop Phoenix. Very strong songs, but there's times where I wonder why I'm hearing the same loops for three minutes after the melody's finished.

I think the long songs work on the first album where the lyrics were denser and they had more verses. Not so much later on...

I’ll go along with this. I still think parts are a bit overlong, but it helps if there are lyrics over it instead of a seemingly endless vamp

By the way, the impetus for playing BAD today was the "CD tracks that are different from vinyl" thread, because it made me think of the V 13 and Hollywood Boulevard versions. Still not quite sure how many versions there are of both.

I love the quaint version of V13 from the original vinyl. The single remake gave it more beef but that first version just has something about it.

Well, that's called revelation and it usually involves images in burned toast, so you truly are blessed.
