To be the Pink Flag board, someone can make a point and then be greeted with silence for three months. It really is the oddest thing that Wire has a devoted enough fanbase that they can do all these self-financed projects like the Legal Bootleg series, yet the fans aren't talkative.Kory wrote: ↑12 Jun 2019, 4:44pmThe table with no conversation! Reading through some of the more recent stuff now, it seems clear that nobody has much to say to one another even when they do talk!Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑12 Jun 2019, 5:02pmTo be the Pink Flag board, someone can make a point and then be greeted with silence for three months. It really is, for the most part, a collection of monologues. I've rarely had anything resembling a discussion with anyone there. When I've PM'd with people, they're kind and generous and all that, but everyone's bowling alone.Kory wrote: ↑12 Jun 2019, 6:21pmReading through some of the more recent stuff now, it seems clear that nobody has much to say to one another even when they do talk!Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑12 Jun 2019, 5:02pmTo be the Pink Flag board, someone can make a point and then be greeted with silence for three months. Debut was very good as was his final, 1984, but the 4 (I think) albums in between did little to nothing for me. As for Hagar, 5150 and For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge are some of my favourite rock albums out there.WestwayKid wrote: ↑12 Jun 2019, 10:27am
Their debut is one of the best hard rock albums ever recorded. They never really did a bad album with Diamond Dave - in fact - the overall quality was pretty darned high. The Sammy Hagar years never really did much for me, however.

I'm going through St. Vincent's discography, on the first album now. It's rather strange.

Same. I had a poster made a few months ago. It seems a bit of a mess, but it's compelling as hell.Kory wrote: ↑14 Jun 2019, 3:37pmI like the cover the more I see it.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑14 Jun 2019, 3:04pm

I think it's the bold use of yellow that I particularly like. It's a hard color to work with because unless it's heavily saturated, it's weak as hell.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑14 Jun 2019, 3:42pmSame. I'd never have thought of that, but I think you're right. Yellow tends to be an accent colour, not the main field.Kory wrote: ↑14 Jun 2019, 3:55pmI think it's the bold use of yellow that I particularly like. Spied at a used record shop in Cleveland. Not sure if it’s the one Doc posted earlier - but this one could be had for a cool 8 bucks!

Yup, the omnipresent and uber shitty Opus X. My sister owned it and their previous album, so I'm bitterly acquainted. I'm rarely in the mood for Coldplay but this is a half decent album. Not a fan of anything after though.
