Norman Westberg, After Vacation. For the last several years, he's been releasing these beautiful little ambient records that just wash over you. This is supremely gorgeous stuff, a bit on the dark side yet also uplifting. Highly, highly recommended.

I like the sound on the expanded version of Darklands. It sounds a bit more compressed than the original CD I bought back in the 90's - but somehow it works - especially when played loud - which in all honesty is how JAMC should always be played!!

Two great albums there. I think I prefer Darklands.

Played loud goes without saying! I think I prefer Darklands too now, but Just Like Honey is my favourite track and if Some Candy Talking and Pyscohocandy (the song) had been on the first album then that might have swayed me towards that. Always liked the NME freebie single version of Some Candy Talking, which made it on to one of the expanded versions.

I really like BRMC! I got into them because I'm a Brian Jonestown Massacre fan - but I think these days I prefer BRMC. They played Milwaukee this past May in support of their new album & it was a very loud - but very excellent show!!

Their first LP is a great place to start.
