This is VH, Jr.'s favorite movie. I may be a terrible parent.

I appreciate the validation! Half the jokes go over his head (like when Elaine is manually blowing up the auto-pilot), but he just thinks it's funny because it's an autopilot who is being inflated.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑24 Apr 2019, 9:16amOr you may be an awesome parent. I'm listening to it now. After the first song, I thought, Okay, this isn't that bad. But it's gone really south in a hurry. It's borderline cruel that Andy Gill puts out this stuff under the Go4 name.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑19 Apr 2019, 6:27pmYep, what I expected. More of the same of the recent stuff. It's hard to review this given it sits in the same folder as Entertainment and Return the Gift.

Yes - very disappointing. Most of the tracks sound like they could have come from any mediocre band. Even the vocals used to have a great edge - now he's crooning. Gang of Four used to be harsh funk and you had to pay attention - now, meh, "We'll sing another song now - hope you don't mind."

Because of a weird tagging issue that I don’t quite understand when I put them on my phone, I’m listening to a bunch of random Magazine songs in no particular order.

Loved it the first time I heard it. Still do. Haven't listened to that album in forever and am giving it a spin now. Still great.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
Re: What Are you Listening to Right Now?
Never even heard anything else, what do you recommend in particular?
Re: What Are you Listening to Right Now?
"Jimmy" off that album is a lot of fun. "Born Free" off the next album is really good too, especially if you like her sampling 70s punk bands.
