Airplane was great.
A good buddy of mine is in the process of putting together an oral history of the movie. I've been privy to some of the raw transcripts of interviews, and can say that it's gonna be a hoot-and-a-half of a book.
How cool! I hope it's longer than famous Jews in sports!

This is VH, Jr.'s favorite movie. I may be a terrible parent.
Or you may be an awesome parent. Or there may be no maybe about it. Now, if VH Jr. were into, like, David Spade movies, yeah, I'd dial 9 and 1 and have my finger poised over 1 again.

I appreciate the validation! Half the jokes go over his head (like when Elaine is manually blowing up the auto-pilot), but he just thinks it's funny because it's an autopilot who is being inflated.

Jokes for him to rediscover when he's older.

Hello,

Gang of Four - Happy Now. Not really.
I dl'd it this morning expecting very little from it. Haven't listened yet, but it's good to know that I wasn't making a mistake by delaying things.
Hello,

More of the same of the recent stuff. It's hard to review this given it sits in the same folder as Entertainment and Return the Gift.
Yep, what I expected. I'm enough of a completist to get a copy, but I can't imagine I'll listen to it once and that's that.
I'm listening to it now. After the first song, I thought, Okay, this isn't that bad. But it's gone really south in a hurry. It's borderline cruel that Andy Gill puts out this stuff under the Go4 name.

Hello,

Yes - very disappointing. Most of the tracks sound like they could have come from any mediocre band. Even the vocals used to have a great edge - now he's crooning. Gang of Four used to be harsh funk and you had to pay attention - now, meh, "We'll sing another song now - hope you don't mind."

Because of a weird tagging issue that I don’t quite understand when I put them on my phone, I’m listening to a bunch of random Magazine songs in no particular order.

Loved it the first time I heard it. Still do. Haven't listened to that album in forever and am giving it a spin now. Still great.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Never even heard anything else, what do you recommend in particular?

"Jimmy" off that album is a lot of fun. "Born Free" off the next album is really good too, especially if you like her sampling 70s punk bands.
