There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

I'll kick in $50 that can be taken to the dog track and bet on Sealed Pancake.

God, he really is the Donald Chump of music. Re: The KISS thread
I have expressed support for KISS in earlier threads, but I need to clarify that while I do like a lot of their music (especially early on) - Gene is a really hard guy to even try to like.

Re: The KISS thread
This is seriously kind of depressing. More rock stars are coming? Who? June is getting into county fair season and most washed up "rockers" will be playing horrid package tours.

If they can pull in someone from Stryper or Dokken, I think they're ready to open for Chickenfoot.

I just looked up Dokken for shits and giggles and...nope. They’re touring, so they had to back out.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑06 Mar 2018, 9:37amIf they can pull in someone from Stryper or Dokken, I think they're ready to open for Chickenfoot.

Full confession: I came up with a whole bunch of shitty metal bands from the 80s for my example, then looked them up on Wikipedia—because I care that much about my dumb snark, people!—and they're all still doing the corn dog state fair circuit, so I said fuck it and still went with Dokken as one of my picks (because I don't care that much about my dumb snark, people!).revbob wrote: ↑06 Mar 2018, 11:12amTheres too much of a market for shit hair metal these days.Wolter wrote: ↑06 Mar 2018, 10:57amI just looked up Dokken for shits and giggles and...nope. Re: The KISS thread
Seems like there is always a "Monsters of Metal" or something like that package tour/weekend in Wisconsin every year. Typically in a more barren/depressed portion of the state where you can drop way too much cash to camp and watch some really bad washed up 80's/90's metal bands while sucking down warm Coors Light. I really do try to seldom make fun of the music tastes of others - but this sort of thing is such an easy target. Dudes in Harley tank tops and jean shorts, chicks who wear those slouchy woven cowboy hats...all hanging out in a cow pasture and it's either 90 degrees or pouring rain...but hey...Korn is playing on the Miller Lite Stage at 7:30!! Woo hoo!Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑06 Mar 2018, 11:18amFull confession: I came up with a whole bunch of shitty metal bands from the 80s for my example, then looked them up on Wikipedia—because I care that much about my dumb snark, people!—and they're all still doing the corn dog state fair circuit, so I said fuck it and still went with Dokken as one of my picks (because I don't care that much about my dumb snark, people!).revbob wrote: ↑06 Mar 2018, 11:12amTheres too much of a market for shit hair metal these days.Wolter wrote: ↑06 Mar 2018, 10:57amI just looked up Dokken for shits and giggles and...nope. My full confession for the day is I actually saw Korn live back in the late 90's and I can make no excuse for it.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑06 Mar 2018, 11:36am*Hoy's ears start burning. I was in a coworkers car recently. Hes got satellite radio. Some Ratt song from 198-whatever comes on. Hes a 20 something and hes like "hey you must remeber this song from back in the day, is that what you were listening to?"Dr.
