Not a bad little playlist...

Bowie - Be my Wife
Black Grape - Shake well before opening
Pioneers- Longshot kick de bucket
Angelic Upstarts - I'm an upstart
Steel Pulse - Drug Squad
FYC - Johnny Come home
King Tubby - Battle axe dub
'People like Coldplay and people voted for the Nazi's, you can't trust people Jeremy':- Super Hans

'Hayes ... is one of the most godforsaken places I have ever struck. The population seems to be entirely made up of clerks who frequent tin-roofed chapels on Sundays and for the rest bolt themselves within doors.' - George Orwell

John Cale - "The Endless Plain of Fortune"
The Mothers of Invention - "It Can't Happen Here"
Bob Dylan - "I Shall Be Free"
Flesh Eaters - "No Questions Asked"
Rising Sons - "Tulsa County"
MC5 - "Tonight"
Big Audio Dynamite - "Beyond the Pale"

Skipped tracks:
The Clash - Let the Good Times Roll from Rude Boy
James Williamson and The Careless Hearts - 1970 (live)

Much better shuffle this time. It actually has songs that are listenable and non-filler.

Fourth time:

Suicide - "Girl"
Devo - "Mongoloid"
Robert Johnson - "Love in Vain"
The Kinks - "Death of a Clown" *
Son House - "Sundown"
The Stooges - "Dirt [take 12]"
Minutemen - "Take 5, D"

*It's interesting how it picked this Kinks song since I already listened to it twice in a row like twenty minutes ago, and it's Dave Davies birthday today. Also notice how "clown" and "sundown" rhyme and the next two songs have "take" in them.

The 8th song was First Night Back in London, no joke.

Jim Morrison - Angels And Sailors
David Bowie - The Secret Life Of Arabia
Cynic - How Could I
Galaxie 500 - Cold Night
Wipers - Wait A Minute
Shellac - Copper
Lou Reed - Perfect Day (Acoustic Demo)

These threads are fun, but I don't know why.

No music post-199-something is surprising, and no british punk rock or post-punk is also surprising.

I'm gonna post up two more rounds from my Mediamonkey library.

Round #1:

The Clash - Spanish Bombs [Live]
David Allan Coe - Cum Stains on My Pillow
The F.U.'s - Peer Police
The Kinks - Do It Again
White Zombie - Dead or Alive
The Clash - Police & Thieves [Live]
Government Issue - I'm James Dean

The Clash live boots are starting to make their presence known. Also, I gotta say, this is a pretty badass set of music, here. Truckly, even.

Round #2:

Velvet Underground - Sweet Jane
Gang Green - Let's Drink Some Beer
The Clash - Rock the Casbah [Live]
U2 - Fire
Bob Dylan - Quinn the Eskimo (The Mighty Quinn)
Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros - Mega Bottle Ride [Live]
The Band - Don't Ya Tell Henry

More Clash (& related) boots making themslves know here. Otherwise a pretty "classic rock" feel to the whole affair. Works for me.

Solid.

One more round:

Naked City - "Piledriver"
Joy Division - "Interzone"
Incredible Kidda Band - "Don't Take Me To the Cleaners"
Public Enemy - "Prophets of Rage"
Napalm Death - "C.S."
Apocalypse Hoboken - "Sweet Transvestite"
Rolling Stones - "Monkey Man"

This looks like the kind of playlist I would willfully construct to show how "hip and varied" my music taste is. "NY Avant-Jazz followed by Post-Punk followed by Power Pop followed by militant Hip-Hop followed by Grindcore/Death Metal followed by an ironic pop-punk cover of a showtune followed by a Stones album track. Look how rad I am."
