"Motel Matches" by Elvis Costello and the Attractions references the Sam Cooke murder.

More Mojo Nixon songs:
Don Henley Must Die
"Debbie Gibson is Pregnant with my Two Headed Love Child"
"Elvis is Everywhere"
"The Ballad of country Dick"
"I'm Gonna Dig up Howlin' Wolf"
"Rock n Roll Hall of Lame" mentions many musicians ( Both motherfuckers named Beck, Celine Dion, Christie McVie) good and bad and is one of the best songs ever.
He also tends to mention Elvis and old blues singers pretty often.

The absolute pure pop perfection by Camera Obscura, "Lloyd, I'm Ready To Be Heartbroken." Not really about Lloyd Cole, but an obvious play on the Commotions, "Are You Ready To Be Heartbroken?"
"Grab some wood, bub.'" - Richard Nixon, Checkers Speech, abandoned early draft

The Lounge Lizards - John Zorn's S&M Circus

Probably one of the best titles in Jazz.
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .
— Morton Feldman

I've studied the phenomenon of neo-provincialism in self-isolating online communities but this place takes the fucking cake.

Ian Dury and the Blockheads: "Sweet Gene Vincet"
Stray Cats: "Gene and Eddie"
The Clash: "If Music Could Talk," "Living in Fame"

For the record, I've been listening to Gene Vincent for the past half hour.
