Calling DJ (and all the Germans)

Post by 101Walterton »

You and I in a little toy shop
Buy a bag of balloons with the money we got

Its all over and Im standing pretty
In this dust we call a city

Nena wrote the song in German so how come the lyrics rhyme in English ?? Is it a straight translation from German to English or did she re write it.

Similar sentiments, but re-written. I'm still wondering what "worry worry super-scurry" means!

We all had to sing the German version in German lessons at school, all these cringing 13 year olds wishing they could be somewhere else. The teachers thought they were really hip that they were using a song from the Hit Parade as a basis for a lesson.

Yeah I don't recall noticing the armpits, or her shoes.

You're kidding, it looked like the Jackson 5 were hiding out in there.

It's a rewrite. For the English version she dropped the Nietzsche and Heidegger references and the line about bulletproof bras.
