I'll fully admit that I don't know what “socialism of the heart” actually means, but it still seems comforting and inspirational. There are positions that BB has taken that make me raise an eyebrow, but in the greater scheme of things, he's on the side of the angels.

I love that track. I've always considered the lyric to be saying that Socialisms heart is in the right place.

Yeah, I get the rough idea—BB is a solid socialist humanist—but the phrasing seems like there should be more to what he means.

Great continuous Beat Club (German version of TOTP) mix here for fans of the 60s. All the usual late 60s suspects.

There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Yeah believe it or not she was a YouTube suggestion. Her voice reminds me of someone else's but can't place it.

Just a thought on that Squeeze doc, "Another Nail In My Heart" may have the best guitar solo ever committed to record.

The Drifters may have been on the chicken in a basket circuit in 1985, but fuck, this is an entertaining way to spend 25 minutes. Includes a great "Spanish Harlem" by Ben E. King...
