Not just a great song but a nice nod to Joe in the lyrics at 2:42. You see Joe in the audience at the end looking quite appreciative...

Love that. Joe was in absolutely flying form that night, rousing all the other bands to join in on I Fought The Law. Stirring stuff.
This was 5 days after I met Joe for the one and only time. So sad that both him and Warren would be gone so soon after.
I regret never meeting Joe when I had the chance 😞
I regret not going to NYC to see him. Im feeling the same about Shane MacGowan but that's a slow drawn out death.

It was after that show that i started getting into Warren Zevon, some really great music in that catalogue.

And on the subject of regrets, i had this ambition to do a mini tour of the states following the meskies but found an excuse to put it off in 2002 and said next year definitely.

Love the sax in this...

There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

I was listening the Colourbox box set, which has their cover of "The Wanderer" (its … okay), and was reminded about how great this song is. It has such an easy-going and seductive rhythm with deceptive lyrics about the lonely life of the lothario. A great response to "American Pie" type of nonsense about rock n roll's fate between Buddy Holly and the Beatles.

Loved this since I first heard it in the Wanderers movie when I was 14. One of those perfect tracks. I think young Tom prefers the Status Quo version, the absolute madman.

What's better than finding an awesome song you never heard before and learning that it's 50 years old!
