Because at least half the appeal of the Beatles is the romantic myth of it all—and the older I get, the more I embrace that—it would have been perfect for them to quit right there. Spare us the bitterness and sniping of the Get Back sessions. End it with this wonderful campfire sing-along scene that presented their dream of peace and love.
