Real: "This mellow thighed chick just put my spine out of place"

Conan: Did you like the Clash?
John: No. Isn't that good enough? No, no, no.
Conan: Oh Come on, elaborate. Why, did you guys think you were trying to do different things?
John: Well, their kind of songwriting really was just a few quotes from Karl Marx around a merry little melody.
Conan: With a driving back beat that just wouldn't quit!

Re: Misheard Lyrics
I think I've mentioned it on here before, but I always thought "I see my Marianne walking away" on More Than A Feeling* was "I see my very end walking away...."
*I'll say it again, MTAF should be the American National Anthem, I can honestly see it happening a couple of hundred years down the line.

Re: Misheard Lyrics
You seriously overestimate its popularity. It doesn't even get licensed much for commercials. I can think of only one from the past decade.Heston wrote:I think I've mentioned it on here before, but I always thought "I see my Marianne walking away" on More Than A Feeling* was "I see my very end walking away...."

Just like the Yanks overestimate the popularity of Led Zeppelin and "Brand New Cadillac."Dr. Medulla wrote:You seriously overestimate its popularity. Re: Misheard Lyrics
On an old listserv I picked up on that term—on a thread about misheard lyrics, of course—but had since forgotten it. There's a hipster band just waiting to be called The Mondegreens.Wolter wrote:Last night I learned a new word for a misheard lyric: Mondegreen.

Waaaaaaaaah raaaaaaah, I wanna raaaaaah, waaaaaaaaah raaaaaaah a riot of me own.
Forces have been looting
My humanity
Curfews have been curbing
The end of liberty
We're the flowers in the dustbin...
No fuchsias for you.
