If you mean Ayler's In Greenwich Village I do not know, because I do not have that album (yet).

Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense
Pistols - Winterland
Winterland is dreadful Jones guitar keeps cutting out Sid is stoned off his nugget, Rotten does go through the pain barrier and suffer for his art but overall it's naff. The Chelmsford prison gig is good and the Indecent Exposure boot (Burton On Trent) also.

My favorite is easily Neil Young at Massey Hall. It's stunningly good.

Other favorites would be FHTE, Stop Making Sense, and Under a Blood Red Sky (the DVD, not the actual album).

It's the record where Louis Armstrong's famous affinity for Ayler actually makes sense. Satchmo derided bebop as Chinese music, but he dug Ayler... the Greenwich set clarifies why.

Which is why I love it. It's sloppy and tortured, a wounded beast ready to be put out of its misery.

Yeah, that's a choice one. A good reminder that the Beatles were undeniably a *rock and roll* group.

In the mid 90's this was a bootleg, but I think it's been officially released since then.

my current top ten, in no particular order. no boots as that would be too difficult... though there would definitely be a Rockpile one in here because they are probably the best live band without an official live album:

David Johansen - Live It Up
The Kinks - One For The Road
Ramones - It's Alive
Springsteen - Hammersmith Odeon, London '75
Nirvana - Unplugged
Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison/At San Quentin
Warren Zevon - Stand In The Fire
The Band - Rock Of Ages/The Last Waltz
U2 Go Home: Live From Slane Castle 2001
Creedence Clearwater Revival - The Concert At Royal Albert Hall
