Cocteau Twins appreciation thread

Show of hands?
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .
— Morton Feldman

I've studied the phenomenon of neo-provincialism in self-isolating online communities but this place takes the fucking cake.

I keep confusing them with the Thompson Twins, I don't know why.

A much much much missed band. I'm not as keen on their more aggressive, darker early material, and actually rate quite highly all their post-4AD albums. Three of my all-time favourite top ten songs—"Carolyn's Fingers," "Orange Appled," and "Smile" (any one of which I would be grateful to have played at my funeral)—are Cocteaus. Nothing short of a tragedy that someone blessed with an angel's voice should be hindered—psychologically or otherwise—from sharing it.

'Carolyn's Fingers , Orange-Appled are also 2 of my best songs ever along with 'Cico Buff' a great band who I'd love to see reform again (I'm sure they came close last year but had second thoughts at the last minute)

For me though there is nothing better than the album 'Heaven Or Las Vegas' It's probably their greatest album personally it dosent contain 1 filler track every song is amazing on that album.
Somebody was trying to tell me that CDs are better than vinyl because they don't have any surface noise. I said, "Listen, mate, "life" has surface noise."

Liz backed out. Robin and Simon were very up for it, but she had a minor breakdown again just before initial rehearsals and scuttled it.

Just like to state that the Thompson Twins were fucking terrible..

From what I've heard I don't like either of them, thompson or cocteau.

Liz at her most lovably alien. Or, as I like to say, not-quite-human. Darn close, but still not exactly there.
