Unlike being a fan of Saxon.

I've studied the phenomenon of neo-provincialism in self-isolating online communities but this place takes the fucking cake.

Did you read the music paper from the back and to the front
Did you find out where to see your favorite band
Did you listen to the radio every Friday night
Did hang around your local record store

Denim and Leather
Brought us all together
It was you that set the spirit free
We reach the parts other combos cannot reach
We beach the beachheads other armies cannot beach
We speak the tongues other mouths cannot speak

Dominic the Impotent Bull—great Elvis song or greatest Elvis song?
They're all great. :shifty:
Even "Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce"?
Especially "Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce". I get a lot of perverse enjoyment out of the "Greatest Shit" CD.

If I didn't know better I would think they were German.

As do I. There's something weirdly satisfying about a guy with that much talent singing about the most inane shit imaginable. "Cut Me & I Bleed" and "Having Fun Onstage With Elvis" are also great from that angle.

By the way, by ear, I always thought it was "Denim and Leather burns on together" which is even worse and doesn't make make sense.

I always thought it was "Denim and Leather runs all together" and was a comment on the laundry problems of a touring heavy metal band.

I was kinda disappointed to find out "Princess of the Night" was actually about a train.

Ooooh, guess what my friends and I got (had) to witness (suffer through) last night?
Their neighbor, a gay Korean man with a spanish first name (don't ask me) having a Mamma Mia party (that's all we could surmise), and playing --- over and over again --- "Waterloo" whilst karaoke-ing over it (in his Korean accent) and leading a troupe of friends (imbeciles) in a dance routine, replete with "jazz hands."

Oh yes we did.

I think, possibly, one of the most surreal moments of my life.

And, ps, I'll not be listing my Hoy-ness.... Even in the only-briefly-safe-from-shame thread, I'd still lose my Clash Fan rights if I posted some of the things I have on my iPod.

Reminds me of the episode of King of the Hill where Kahn sings "She Blinded Me With Science," and Hank remarks, "I've never heard that song done with just one note."

I almost included how monotone his voice was, too, but thought it might tip the scales of 'badness'....

The moral of this thread, I think, is that people are way too self-critical about what they feel like they should or shouldn't be listening to. Most of the stuff I've seen listed here ranges from not-that-bad to pretty-damned-good.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
