Wrong.

I guess I'm sort of with Hoy on this one. I'd rate the Cream stuff more highly and the solo stuff less than he did, but I think D&tD and Blind Faith are aiight.

I don't necessarily HATE Layla. But it doesn't move me that much either. But the acoustic version is worse than anything Pol Pot ever did.

I have a killer live boot version of it rambling around somewhere. Pretty sweet. I don't even remember the acoustic version, which leads me to believe I don't think highly of it.

I can support that theory. Cream is good. Everything else he does makes me hate life.

Fixed.

I knew this kid in college who went berserk each time he heard the solo at the end of Let it Rain, running around, trashing in the air, ripping down posters and turning over furniture, etc. He hated Clapton. It was an involuntary reaction.

"You know who that guy was?"

"No."

"Take one good guess."

"Bob Hope."

"No, that guy was Mitch Cumstein...

...my roommate.

He's a good guy."

Hilarious - and synchronized! That very quote has been on my mind for the last couple of days; I even called my co-worker Mitch Cumstein this morning when I arrived. But I didn't think of it when telling the Clapton story.

He must be the only person to make an awful, pathetic attempt at a cover version of his own classic song !!

Have you heard Weller's recent interpretations of the Jam back catalogue?

No no I was referring to people posting on other boards I have read not here (although some people have posted bollocks here but most that have don't hang around long). Why do people go to such lengths just to post abuse about someone they have never met and never will.

Yeah -- it's obvious that people tend to say things they would never say to someone face to face. They can feel like a big smartypants on the Interwebs.
