I kept hoping I wouldn't hear it...but then BAM: Bitter Sweet Symphony!
And a million Limeys just ejaculated with laughter.
My understanding is that your countrymen weep with ecstacy when they hear it.
Take a good look in your own backyard first. It got to No. 5 in the Canadian charts.
It only went to No. 12 in the US so I think we win!

It's much harder for a limey group to get success in the states. So in the grand scheme you just lost. ;)

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I once said I hated them when we were out with friends and my ex-wife got mad at me because apparently they were the fave band of one of her friends.

It's a toss-up whether, amongst Canadian bands, I hate them more than Rush. I'll give Rush modest credit for leaving behind music that apparently generates scholarly interest.

Don't forget April Wine and Triumph. I have seen both of these bands.

I like to rock.

I actually like BNL just fine. They are just soooo Canadian. Also, weird band to be your favorite.

Crueler still that the most attractive member of your band is only 3 inches tall and out of focus.
In space no one can hear you clash!
