GLENN DANZIG Says His 'Sings Elvis' Concerts Will Be Rescheduled For June/July.

Seems overly optimistic at this point.

I really, really want to see one of these shows somehow
Yeah I think it would be pretty cool
Hm. I'd like to hear the record first.

I found the new Strokes single to be surprisingly enjoyable. Then I found out Billy Idol/Tony James get cowriting credit because the hook is lifted from "Dancing With Myself". Well, that explains it.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I guess that's slightly cooler than when they ripped off Sum 41 with You Only Live Once. Does Tom Petty get a co-writing credit on Last Nite?

Enjoyable is a good word to describe it. Perfectly listenable but not something that makes you want to play it again right away.

Yup. Not a bad song, but they've done much better.

That track wasn't the only borrow on the new album. This one also sounded familiar and a look at the writing credits confirmed my suspicions.

Sounds like 80s Psychedelic Furs to me.

Yup. Co-writing credit for Richard and Tim Butler on this one. The Ghost in You.

Yeah I listened to this track and the previous one in the thread. I don't mind steals to be honest but neither of these Strokes tracks are a patch on those they steal from.

This guy takes a usually live video of a band or musician performing and plays what it looks like they are playing on top of it. Started originally as guitar solos but eventually moved to full band ones. Here's a classic one:

So that's a video of EVH, but not the sound of him playing?

Yeah the guy takes a video of performances and records new audio of what it kinda looks like they are playing.
