Hey, Boney M are great.
You're drunk from your Duran Duran poll victory.
Their basslines were wicked.
A couple of teriffic singles. I like Ma Baker, Daddy Cool, and Rasputin.
I'll add Gotta Go Home, Belfast and Painter Man to that.
Well Painter Man is a cover of 60's band The Creation as I'm a huge fan the Boney M cover is insignificant. Belfast has a great tune but those lyrics are crap. I don't know Gotta Go Home.

My city may suck, but at least we can claim Chuck Berry.
Phish...feel my shame.
I'm stuck with Macklemore, history's greatest monster.
Seattle? Fuck that shit you have Hendrix
If I had to guess, I would think that Macklemore has sold more records than Hendrix by now.
Really, people suck THAT much? But I doubt he'll ever have the staying power and influence of Hendrix.

Definitely not. I was just going with the premise of the map.

I just love the guitar solo and the groove in their cover of Painter Man, the original is great too.

Hey, Boney M are great.
Better than Kate Bush...

Whatever their musical merits, they're still a Frankenstein's (or Frank Farian's) creature.

As long as the end justifies the means. Loads of the those classic 50s and 60s records were made by studio svengalis.

I’m not familiar enough with Boney M to have an opinion, but I learned ages ago that the vast majority of popular music is prefab. You either embrace it or toss them all out.

Oh was that the basis for the map, sales? Sales are bullshit.

Smash Mouth and Billy Corgan enter the cage. Don't let them out until there are no life signs.

Well at least you'd expect the guys/girls who lip sync on TV to be the ones singing on the records as well.

Can't say I hate them though. Actually one of my first LPs was a Boney M record. My dad bought it for me cause he thought I'd like it, so I really tried.

We've had workers in the house the last couple weeks doing some renovations. On their radio right now: Rush, "Tom Sawyer." What is wrong with this country?!?

An ex of mine (who also loved Boston - you all know the one) thought that was the coolest song ever because of the line "Though his mind is not for rent to any god or government." I used to give him shit about that being really tepid and cliche. Then he would emotionally abuse me, so it's good I found a guy who likes my ribbing of his terrible music taste.
