I noticed they left off the Violent Femmes self titled, which I consider a seminal album. Is it punk, though?
No.
Why not? And for a good dead-horse question: what constitutes "punk"?
Because acoustic guitars are for weenies.

Im with Kory on the inclusion of the Offspring and Green Day for that matter. and some might disagree but Id drop Gen X too, I like them but would include something from any number of bands over those 3 (MDC, DOA, Subhumans, Adolescents...).

only real punk album is the exploited's 1985 effort, horror epics, i reckon
The Exploited always have, and always will, be a heavy metal band.

Have I ever mentioned that I owned that album? Back when I discovered punk and was pretty omnivorous in the genre. They were pretty good for letting me know that maybe Oi wasn't up my alley (tho "Maggie" is kind of a snapping tune).

Also, Heston's crazy.

Well shit, I just found out that one of my favorite Elvis tunes is "Tomorrow is a Long Time" is a Dylan composition.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
