FREE DOWNLOAD: Human Sexual Response - Fig. 14

Post by Flex »

I picked up this little gem a while back, the debut release from Boston's Human Sexual Response. A New Wave/Post-Punk (but more New Wave) band from the early 80s. Members of Human Sexual Response would later go on to play with cool dudes like Bob Mould and Frank Black. This release is long out of print and while it was repressed as a compilation called Fig. 15 for a while, I believe that is now out of print as well. So, here's a rip from my personal vinyl collection.

Available in two flavors:

FLAC (Level 8): http://www.zshare.net/download/66124973c3547630/
mp3 (-0 VBR): http://www.zshare.net/download/661251059744274e/

Enjoy!
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

I want to be....Jackie Onassis, OH YEAH!
We reach the parts other combos cannot reach
We beach the beachheads other armies cannot beach
We speak the tongues other mouths cannot speak

Thank you, young man.

True story: what initially spurred this rip was looking through my record collection, seeing this one, and thinking "Doc would like this."

So you better like it.

Great—non-bedroom performance anxiety. :twitch:

Pretty good stuff. Totally new wave—melodic pop married with post-punk jerkiness. Striking how immediate the new wave sound is so removed from its time. What sounded so familiar, so standard thirty years ago now is obviously genre. Like listening to early XTC—the style just leaps out and screams, "New wave!"
