This Will Likely Be Simultaneously Awful and Awesome

Snoop Dog will be remixing "I Walk the Line." Back when I was more uptight about music, I likely would have been displeased by this turn of events. No longer.

He does have this interesting new single

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

I've studied the phenomenon of neo-provincialism in self-isolating online communities but this place takes the fucking cake.

Why? Isn't it cool that such a wide array of musicians feel inspired by his music? I doubt he would have minded. His radical interpretations of songs by the likes of Nine Inch Nails suggest he's open to other artists interpreting music pretty differently. Plus, he did that kind of shitty song with U2 which, if nothing else, showed he was probably pretty cool with appearing in music that wasn't just his standard chugalong country sound.

But yeah, fuck all artists who want to pay honor and tribute to a musician of a different genre. Fuck them up their asses.

That was surprisingly decent... I more surprised that Willie Nelson was involved in something halfway decent then Snoop Dogg though. I don't like Nelson at all. Everything I've heard of his is just so lifeless and boring. Seems everyone loves him. Probably just because everyone is a bunch of dope smoking hippies.

Man, I love that song. Perfect lyrics for Cash to hear sing.

For the record, I both love Willie and loathe both dope and dope smoking hippies. You might like his new one with Wynton Marsalis. It's got some good energy to it. He is pretty damned mellow usually, which might be a turn off.

JC was fine in it, but I thought Bono's backing vocals were wanky even for his standards and the music was kinda boring. As I said, lyrics and Cash's contribution were good tho.

Actually, I shouldn't say I've never enjoyed anything by Willie Nelson. On the third season of SNL he does a song - Whiskey River and it was pretty good. But then his duet with Mary Kay Place canceled it out. And I realize that one sentence is bad I meant "perfect lyrics to hear Cash sing."

I couldn't care less really it's all just music to me but as everybody else was saying it was a good idea, I thought I would go against the grain as it was.
