I just got tickets to see Taj Mahal play at an old vaudeville theater in Beverly, MA. I’m psyched to see both.
I'd prefer to see an old vaudeville show at the Taj Mahal.
Underrated post!!!

How far would any of you travel to see one of your favorite bands of all time, who you've never seen live, who are now defunct but are playing a one-off charity show?

Looks like I'm actually venturing out into the live music scene. The Trashcan Sinatras are coming to Ottawa in June, playing acoustic versions of their first two albums in full. I'm waiting to hear from a friend who saw them whether I should splurge for the extra-priced meet & greet. This is clearly divinely inspired because since Friday I've been playing their various live discs, something I rarely do.
Remember when bands used to do meet and greets out of unity with the fans?

They still do but nowadays you pay an extra $1,000 for your ticket and get a signed photo.

Within the continent, I'd say. Tho push comes to shove I'd talk myself out of spending the money.

Even if it were a once in a lifetime kind of thing?
Like, say Bruce was reuniting with Wire for one show only or something.

The only band I'd travel continents for would have been the Clash. Would pretty much have sold my life's possessions for that one.

Not to other continents, but I flew to the east coast to see Slapshot and the west coast to see Jerry Lee Lewis.
