Nah, Cheetah was just doing guitar and backing vox. They had an actually really good singer they picked up from a dead boys tribute band. Tons of energy and spot on singing. Definitely amped up the energy levels.Marky Dread wrote: ↑19 Nov 2017, 6:32amSounds like you had a great time. Never got to see The Dead Boys. Did speak with Stiv once in London, a cool guy. Dues Cheetah Chrome now do the vocals?
Ah that's interesting mate. Thanks for the info. Do you think they are likely to record anything new with this guy?Flex wrote: ↑20 Nov 2017, 3:34pmNah, Cheetah was just doing guitar and backing vox. They actually released a re-recording of Young, Loud and Snotty with the new guy in September. I'd ignored it, but after seeing how good they were live I may pick it up. They did not mention if they were working on any new material.Marky Dread wrote: ↑20 Nov 2017, 4:41pmAh that's interesting mate. Thanks for the info. Yep I saw that but had no idea until now it was with that new guy. I will be very interested to hear that.Flex wrote: ↑20 Nov 2017, 4:46pmThey actually released a re-recording of Young, Loud and Snotty with the new guy in September. No they are known as The Beat.Spiff wrote: ↑21 Nov 2017, 2:37pmIs it true that The Beat is called The British Beat in Australia and NZ?101Walterton wrote: ↑17 Nov 2017, 4:10pmThe Beat and The Selecter in March same bill

I'm sure that both Dave's and Roger's versions are great, I heartily recommend the Dave Wakeling version. I just love his voice; it has aged very well.
Anyway, below is a crummy cell phone photo of Sunday's show.
Fun facts:
* Dave W. said that some clueless fans sometime think that the band's toaster, King Schascha, is Ranking Roger
* The woman singing in the far left of the photo is Dave's daughter
* I learnt by watching Dave play that although he's a leftie, he plays with a right-handed guitar, with the low strings on the bottom

Wikipedia says that The Beat is called The British Beat in Australia. Perhaps I should correct that?101Walterton wrote: ↑21 Nov 2017, 2:51pmNo they are known as The Beat.Spiff wrote: ↑21 Nov 2017, 2:37pmIs it true that The Beat is called The British Beat in Australia and NZ?101Walterton wrote: ↑17 Nov 2017, 4:10pmThe Beat and The Selecter in March same bill
