The English Beat, this Sunday.

The version with that one guy, not that other guy.
Dave Wakeling not Rankin Roger?

I hope flex wears his mayor sash. You don't have to wear it the whole time, just long enough for a photo.
I'll see what I can do.

Looking at Google Maps, the Ace looks to be pretty far away from the Burgundy. I've realized how cheap tix to LA are though, so no reason for me not to come back...
yeah, we'll be in DTLA, not Hollywood. It's OK, it's a party cuz we're there, not cuz where we are.
Have the two of you met before? If not, Flex, you are in for a treat. Tep is the BEST.

Ace Hotel, i never even heard of it. I'm in for the drink part.
THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR.

Here are the show deets if you wanna snag a ticket (they actually are still available at face value): https://theatre.acehotel.com/events/gol ... lee-lewis/

If all goes well, will be rolling into the Ace around 3ish. There's some pre-show entertainment happening (rooftop rockabilly DJs and such) that could be fun, and would also be up for finding a drink at a nearby bar. Given the limited time, probably don't want to stray very far off from the theatre/hotel, but would LOVE LOVE LOVE to find a way to meet up for a drink.
OK, looks like we're gonna skip the show, but I'll meet you for some pre-drinks. At the Ace? or nearby? Tell me what time. Obv, you don't have to decide this minute.

You know what? Jerry Lee would have done a kick arse boogie woogie version of Pressure Drop in about '79.

wtf, Selecter are still working/touring? Holy cow, who's still in the band? I always thought they were at least as good, probably better than the Specials (I never cared for Terry Hall much, whereas Pauline...).

Just saw John Cale and friends perform The Velvet Underground at BAM, it was one of the best things I've seen in a long while.

I just saw The Descendants and they were great. Weird crowd but cool, a lot of daddy/daughter dates. Milo looked like he left the lab 5 minutes ago.

Grand Rapids own Mustard Plug opened. They’re a poor man’s Bosstones.

Dead Boys were fucking incredible

Addendum: can't remember the last time I left a show cut and bleeding... but in a good way.

Sounds like you had a great time. Never got to see The Dead Boys. Did speak with Stiv once in London, a cool guy. Dues Cheetah Chrome now do the vocals?
