Saw the Pixies the other night with VH, Jr. I am Facebook friends with his old preschool teacher, and she gets VIP tickets through her husband's job. So she gave me box seats and a parking pass, which was awesome. The new "Kim" is, well, not good. Otherwise it was a fun show and they sang all of the expected songs (Monkey, Gouge Away, WIMM, TGYM, Debaser, Nimrod's Son, etc). We got our pic on the local paper's website. Opening act was a woman named Mitski...I actually liked her a lot. Hard to describe, but good stuff.

VH, Jr. is a damned lucky little guy. You've definitely done your part with his cultural education.

(I was one of a handful of people that genuinely liked Indie Cindy, but this last album, Head Carrier, seemed like a clearing out of abandoned and unloved song ideas.)

I really dig Mitski. "Your Best American Girl" made my "Tasty Cutz: 2016" list.

Glad to hear you guys had a good time. Saw them in 09 with real Kim. It was...good. Glad I saw them, don't need to see them again.

I would agree on your album assessment. And I have to do my part - he has a lot working against him what with his dad and living in Moranjortsville.

She is unique - I am going to dig into her stuff.

Dylan ruled. Top show. Petty tribute at the end. More later.

I'm reading that third sentence as his tribute (to something) being paradoxically petty. Sure he lauded the guy, but, man, he sure seemed dickish and resentful about it.

Bob Dylan dickish and resentful?

That's unpossible!

Meh, I'm 4/4. I think if Morrissey cancels on you, you personally did something to deserve it. Take a look at your life.

Mike Love plays around 500 shows a year. That's real commitment.

I'd also like to commit Mike Love.
