So, Jenny, at this Foreigner concert you went to, did you get to see that Mick Jones you're always talking about?
GRRRRRRR.

I will add that a local Pink Floyd cover band sold out the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater the other night. A cover band. A pink Floyd cover band. No wonder nobody comes here.
Could be worse, lile a Grateful Dead cover band.
Or actual Styx.
Can't it be all three?

They'd likely share a bill in one of the circles of hell.

Ugh is that the summer fairgrounds tour this year Foreigner and Styx? Our local usially does 3 shows
1 teeny bopper show i.e.Britney, Bieber etc
1 country act of some sort i.e. Brooks and Dunn, Big and Rich, you get the idea, or if your lucky you dont.
And lastly one "are those bands still around show?" Wgich thr like of Foreigner and Styx would fit nicely.

There have been so.e decent shows mixed in as well over the years like Neil Young and Willie Nelson.

That's the category that always amazes me. Foreigner, Styx, Loverboy, 38 Special—all these crappy bands that are still, utterly confusingly, still viable. Plus, on the summer fair circuit, they get to be headliners. None of those bands rocked the boat in their heyday, but their zombie incarnation is solid evidence in any argument that rock is dead (or undead).

That's exactly how it is here, too. On occasion, we will get quality (like Blondie at the 4th of July festival), but yeah, 98% crap.

Ours is usually Weird Al and then 27 country acts.

I have mentioned a few times here before that I live three blocks away from the Grandstand at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.

Over the years, I have therefore heard (not seen) many good acts for free, such as the B-52's, Flo and Eddie, KISS, and Pat Benatar.

This year ... Nickleback and John Cougar Mellencamp.

Wait, what?
He also listed Kiss in the good column. Ill take PB over Kiss but id much prefer earplugs to both.

I just checked our local fair scene and the lineup this year is:

TLC and other 90s hip hop/r&b.
Brantley Gilbert- country
John Mellencamp
Pentatonix

All in all pretty awful.

Pot stirring is for stay-at-home parents and uncouth pokeristas. :naughty:

I assumed it was some kind of Kiss My Grits with a Munster kicker combo. Which I think would justify some gawking.

Pentatonix
Sending me to Wikipedia, which informs thusly:
Pentatonix, as suggested by Scott Hoying, is named after the pentatonic scale, a musical scale or mode with five notes per octave, representing the five members of the group.[25] They replaced the last letter with an 'x' to make it more appealing.
I'll admit, until I saw the x on the end, I thought they sounded pretty shitty.
