That is my problem. If I want to see a band I will go on my own if I have to (went to The Big Day Out on my own just to see Joe in 2000 and thank god I did) but I have missed loads of good ones because I can’t be arsed going on my own.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑07 Sep 2018, 2:19pmI see they're playing here in a few weeks. Same here. I have few real friends who share my taste in music. And often the shows that come around are middle of the week and start at 11pm.101Walterton wrote: ↑07 Sep 2018, 4:54pmThat is my problem. On the flip side I am often invited to shows or weekends away to see *insert usual IMCT favourites*, “no thanks have a good time”.revbob wrote: ↑07 Sep 2018, 5:09pmSame here. Re: So what's your concert schedule looking like?
You’ve reminded me of the time I was visiting a friend in NYC and we went to see Billy Bragg playing in a small off Broadway theatre. For reasons that escape me, we bought face value tickets from a guy outside so my pal and his girlfriend took the two that were together while I took the separate one. To my surprise I found I was sitting next to the guy who had sold us the tickets in one of those double seat arrangements I hadn’t seen since attending the cinema as a teenager trying to get a smooch. It was uncomfortably tight and to make it worse the jet lag struck with a vengeance mid way through and my legs started to cramp up in a serious way.101Walterton wrote: ↑07 Sep 2018, 4:54pmThat is my problem. The moral of the story is I am more than happy to go to gigs on my own as long as it’s a standing scenario, but hell will have to freeze over before I even consider going alone to an all seater gig again.

Yes, the bands we love to hate. They have a winery tour headlined by acts like Rod Stewart, Phil Collins, Toto, CCR, Billy Joel etc etcrevbob wrote: ↑07 Sep 2018, 5:47pmSo bands you don't care for I presume?101Walterton wrote: ↑07 Sep 2018, 5:16pmOn the flip side I am often invited to shows or weekends away to see *insert usual IMCT favourites*, “no thanks have a good time”.revbob wrote: ↑07 Sep 2018, 5:09pmSame here. Okay I don't know what would constitutes CCR these days but they were an exceptional band in their day unlike the others mentioned.101Walterton wrote: ↑07 Sep 2018, 6:06pmYes, the bands we love to hate. This was the best $40 I’ve spent in ages. I saw some nearly elderly soul professionals from 10 feet (3 meters) out. Fantastic music.
