When's the Denver MC50 show? I gotta see this. Im a big Wayne Kramer fan and would really like to see him live. Could pair it with a trip to see family perhaps. They are also doing Montreal and NYC area so I might shoot for one of those instead.
October 20th. I picked up 2 tix but the second one is currently unassigned, if you want to make the trip.
Unfortunately Oct is too far in the future for me to commit to. Is Ms Flex not attending?

Not really her style.

I hear you there. My wife will go to some shows and likes some of the milder stuff I listen to but when it comes to live shows shes not in it til the end and unless the show is awful I generally wont leave until the very end.

Mighty Mighty Bosstones were, as usual, rad as hell yesterday. I was right up front at the stage and Dicky and I swapped hats for a song:

A Yankees fan?

Why don't you root for the Vermont MLB team?

The Montpelier Patchouli Merchants are only AA, not MLB.

I do root for our local single A Oakland A's affiliate the Lake Monsters, formerly (and I wish still) the Vermont Expos. Before that the Mariners and the more apt Reds when KJ Jr played for a few games.

Not technically a concert, but I went to see the one night only viewing of Nick Cave's Distant Sky performance in Copenhagen, which cracked the planet in half and reinvigorated my Bad Seeds love.

David Allan Coe is doing a couple dates in Colorado this summer. The first one, in Denver, I'm already going to see Jack White. Should I try to hoof it to Grand Junction the next night to see him? Question for Wolter, mostly, I'd guess.

Caveat emptor: I saw Coe in the mid '90s at First Avenue. My buddy and I had comps; Marty was a fan and I didn't know much of his stuff. Coe and the band were really fucked up - I couldn't tell if this was Coe's usual MO, but clearly the band were out of it. And it just got worse. And I don't mean Faces jolly drunk, or Replacements just not feeling like playing well that night drunk, I mean incapable of playing. So Coe did a solo section (didn't seem like it was planned - I'm guessing he just wanted the band off the stage for a spell because they were so awful). And it got worse still: someone tried to program backing tracks to Coe and his guitar (I'm not kidding), and the band sorta one by one stumbled onstage to try to play, and it wasn't working. The crowd was getting ornery so me and Marty went upstairs and watched the rest of the trainwreck from up there, laughing our asses off. Good thing I didn't pay for the gig like the poor saps who were actual fans. Maybe he's straightened up some these days, but look out!

I bought two tickets to the Peter Hook and the Light concert next month.

In other fabulous news, ABBA has recorded two new songs and are scheduled to tour next year.
