I have to agree with many suggestions posted here, eg. Johnny Cash (Hurt, One), Leather Nun (Gimme Gimme), the Sonics (Have Love...) and obviously the Clash (I Fought The Law). Right now I would take Taha's Rock El Casbah over the Clash original.

One more that comes to mind is Frank Black's version of Hang On To Your Ego.
