So I downloaded a video of Sleater-Kinney's last show.
They need to reunite at some point. They're too much of a ridiculously kickass live act to not be around. And they've got a better grasp of how punk rock is supposed to work than pretty much every punk band out there.

Yeah S-k was a great band. Carrie is still my favorite guitarist at the moment.DrugProwlingWolf wrote:First of all, they need to reunite at some point. Second, this is a wicked kickass performance. Very tight, and Brownstein is still my favorite "indie" guitarist because she's obviously influenced by the correct people; Mick Jones, Pete Townshend, etc. All dime users should grab it.

In general I think Sleater-Kinney was critically important to the indie, pitchforkmedia-fucking scene because they were actually a rock band who still remembered that guitars and punk lyrics/vocal stylings are relevant. And they stayed away from synth and listening to Radiohead and Neutral Milk Hotel too much.

Hey DPW, where'd you get that show? I'd love to check it out...
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

If you don't have an invite or something, you're pretty much fucked until I get a paycheck large enough for me to acquire a DVD burner. Sorry, but that's the life of a guy who makes $120 a week.

I think it's more to do with being a 20-year-old in a town where I have no social network or college degree.
I'm gonna work at Food Maxx starting next week. Given the sheer volume of completely broke and old people who shop there, it's really too bad I can't put it on my resume as volunteer work or a Meals on Wheels equivalent or something. But this is not about me, this is about that Sleater-Kinney show. Here's some youtube samples:

I'll blame society for placing way too much damn value on a four-year degree, which I find to be basically useless except for getting you out of your parents' house and being able to pretend to be a grown-up, but that's as far as I go. Shit, I sound like some sort of dirty Republican or something.
